Actor D.B. Sweeney, who starred in the 1992 sports-romantic comedy film “The Cutting Edge,” and his wife, Ashley Vachon, sold their four-bedroom Colonial-style Hinsdale house Wednesday for $930,000 — $5,000 above their asking price.
A New York native, Sweeney, 60, has had a long career in films and on TV. Sweeney and his wife chose to settle in the Chicago area as a place to raise their children, and since 2013 have lived in Hinsdale. In May 2016, Sweeney paid $830,000 for the 2,666-square-foot house, which was built in 1969.
Features in the house include four bathrooms, a primary bedroom suite with multiple closets and a spa bath, a family room with built-in bookcases and a stone fireplace, and a kitchen with granite countertops, stainless steel appliances and an eat-in breakfast area. The house also has a lower level with a rec room and a game room.
The Sweeneys listed the house in June for $925,000, and the house went under contract just five days later.
Listing agent Megan McCleary of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Chicago did not respond to a request for comment on the listing.
The house had an $11,486 property tax bill in the 2021 tax year.
