Police in Fairfield Township are investigating a report of a road rage shooting.

The victim, who asked only to be identified by his first name, Adam, said another driver fired three rounds and his car just after 12:30 p.m. Sunday on Bypass 4, just south of Hamilton-Mason Road.

"I knew as soon as he fired the first shot, he hit my car because plastic was flying around inside the car," Adam told WLWT.

Adam showed WLWT a bullet hole near the bottom of his passenger's side door. It went through the door and hit and snapped the recliner handle.

Adam said the road rage started about two miles away at the five-point roundabout on Hamilton-Mason Road.

He said he was in the roundabout and the other driver failed to yield as he got on.

"So, I hit the brakes, hit the horn and continued on driving," Adam said.

Two minutes later, they met again.

"The hand gestures started coming out of the passenger side window which ended up being a white female. He just more or less tried to ant/agonize me by going extremely slow, just throwing hands up and causing issues," Adam said. "When the bird came out, I put my hands up off the steering wheel, and I mouthed the words, 'Whatever.'"

Adam said they both turned on Bypass 4.

"As I was going to go past him, I watched the window go down and a large black gun come out and three shots fired and one which hit my car," Adam said. "It was, 'pop, pop, pop.' He was trying to put three in me immediately."

Adam said it happened very quickly, but at that moment, he didn't know if he'd be making it home.

"I thought that I was getting ready to die, honestly. I was never in a position where I could see the gun and the grinning face behind it with that murderous intent," Adam said.

According to Adam, the suspect was driving a black Malibu with tinted windows and temporary tags.
