Here Is What You Need to Know Before You Head to October's Atlanta Apparel Market - Gifts & Decorative Accessories

Atlanta Apparel’s October edition is gearing up to present its largest-of-the-year new temporary exhibit alongside hallmark education, events and amenities, all co-located with the Atlanta Fabric Show, just a few months following its earlier crossover August events.

“This October, Atlanta Apparel presents its largest number of new temporary exhibitors for the year and provides retailers and exhibitors with an expanded array of sourcing resources,” said Caron Stover, International Market Center’s senior vice president for apparel. “Atlanta Apparel’s October edition, which features both the season break and partnership with the Atlanta Fabric Show, will provide brands and buyers with the comprehensive resources they need – together under one roof – to prepare for 2023 and successfully close out 2022.”

Running Oct. 11-15, the October Atlanta Apparel Market will host more than 300 permanent showrooms and more than 350 temporary exhibits, showcasing popular spring categories including resort and shoes. New brands making their debut in the temporaries include exhibitors like apparel and accessories maker Frances Valentine, Habitat Clothing, MacRae & Co., The Diamond Label, The Normal Brand and more. Those temporary exhibits occupt Floors 1 through 5 of AmericasMart Building 3. Floor 1 hosts young contemporary and cash and carry exhibitors, Floor 2 holds premier contemporary brands and shoes, Floor 3 exhibitors offer women’s apparel, accessories and shoes, and Floors 4 and 5 b coth host young contemporary product.

Atlanta Apparel’s more than 300  permanent showrooms are located on six floors in AmericasMart Building 3. Floor 6 exhibitors show fine jewelry, Floor 7 hosts immediate resources, Floor 8 exhibitors show accessories and shoes, Floors 9 and 11 hold women’s apparel showrooms, and Floor 13 has children’s apparel, accessories and shoe exhibitors.New showroom additions include exhibitors include Community Service, LH Curated and Scarlett Showroom  Floor 9. Gentle Fawn, Mignonne Gavigan and Southern Tiides will also debut on Floor 11. Resort brands on hand include Walker and Wade, Faherty, Tori Richard, Cabana Life,  Briton Court, Smith & Quinn, J Marie Collections; and Gretchen Scott. Notable shoe exhibitors include Jeffrey Campbell, J Slides, Sam Edelman; and The Flexx.

To open the October market and celebrate the season break, Atlanta Apparel will host its signature market Kickoff Party at 6 p.m. on opening market day, Oct. 12. Adding to the market excitement at 6 p.m. on Oct. 13 will be the Spring/Summer 2023 Pre-Party and Fashion Show at 7 p.m., presenting  more than 70 looks in trending colors, patterns and styles in a robust safari-themed setting outside AmericasMart Building 3.

Atlanta Apparel education returns at the October market, with two sessions on upcoming 2023 trends. On Wednesday, retailers can learn about directions in footwear in a session and on Thursday attendees can preview what’s next in apparel for spring and summer 2023 and see a corresponding educational trend vignette in Building 3’s registration lobby. Both educational sessions will take place at 10: 30 a.m. in Building 3’s Floor 2 atrium.

Signature market amenities include grab-and-go breakfast and coffee daily, a live DJ daily upon arrival, daily happy hours and new buyer orientation sessions led by Sarabeth Jackson, IMC’s Director of Buyer Services for apparel. Attendees also can take advantage of complimentary mid-morning and afternoon treats throughout the building. Atlanta Apparel’s three curated category lounges, which typically highlight market trends, will provide buyers with a comfortable place to recharge and surface top brands in several categories, allowing for further product discovery. Lounge themes for the October market are shoes in the “Footwear News” lounge, giftable immediates and new exhibitors on Floors 3, 4 and 5, respectively.

October Atlanta Apparel’s permanent showrooms are open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. October 11-14. Permanent showrooms will also open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Oct. 16. Temporary exhibits will be open from  9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 12-14.

Joining temporary resources at the October Atlanta Apparel Market is the Atlanta Fabric Show featuring American, Canadian and European textile and trim suppliers from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 12-13 in Building 3’s Floor 1. Supplier categories will include Small & Large Lot Production in the Americas, Made in USA, Low Minimum and Stock Programs.
